Acclaimed vocalist and harmonica player. Noted songwriter and recording artist, both as leader (Hightone, Musicroom, & Continental) and sideman. (Dave Alvin, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Chris Gaffney, Augie Meyer (a Grammy nominated recording), Jello Biafra-Mojo Nixon and many others).
Previous bands unclude the rockabilly and honky tonk country of Teddy & The Talltops, the neo-lounge sleaze of The Naughty Ones, the recording-only cheating song combo of The Wandering Eyes , the 70's countrypolitan influenced Tearjoint Troubadors and the funky southern soul of The Backwoods Hipsters.
Currently can be seen performing original country, blues, rockabilly and soul as Ted Roddy & The Hitkickers. Performs classic blues with The Excellorators. Croons standards with The Leisure Trio. Twice a year since 1986 he has presented a tribute to Elvis at The Continental Club backed by The King Conjure Orchestra, coming up on it's 25th anniversary in August 2011.
